Companies with distributed production and logistics locations are continuously faced with the challenge how to create a transparent as well as efficient supply chain. Deploying a real-time location system (RTLS) incorporates real time locating of specific parts of the flow of goods – such as products – into single location assignments. At the same time, “Qualicision“ automatically prioritizes all orders according to predefined target criteria in the background. Both the supply chain’s transparency and the respective productivity levels are noticeably increased by combining RTLS and “Qualicision”. The employee can then access this combined information through an interactive and user-friendly interface which minimizes search times and thus directly benefits production. In order to enable continuous tracing, data transmission via LTE was implemented on the transport route between two locations in the intralogistics chain.
The Center Connected Industry implemented and validated this technology combination in a field test with our members SICK, itelligence, PSI and Ericsson. We highly appreciate the collaboration and are looking forward to realizing more exciting projects in the near future!
